Cor Meeting Initative

Jason Kehl, Chairman

The COR initiative brings men together for regular gatherings that strengthen faith and help brothers grow closer to Jesus Christ outside the traditional Knights of Columbus business meeting. Every COR gathering should include three essential elements: prayer, formation, and fraternity. COR is open to all men, not only Knights.

Purpose of COR

The word COR is Latin for “heart.” Its purpose is to get to the heart of the matter and to form men with the heart of a father.

Resources and Support

The main source for COR materials is www.kofc.org/cor. The Supreme Council COR team continues to develop resources, so it is recommended that councils revisit the site often for updates.

Available resources include paper materials, videos, training modules, leadership guidance, and practical help for starting and running a COR program.

Ready-to-use starting points pictured below include:
  • Men of the Word

  • Pope Francis

  • The Eucharist

  • Blessed Michael McGivney

Each resource is designed for easy use by a council COR leader, with prepared Scripture passages, thought-provoking questions, discussion topics, and closing prayers. Councils may also find www.formed.org to be a valuable additional resource.

Encouragement and Reporting

As Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly has said, “When it comes to understanding what it really means to be an authentic Catholic man, God’s word—praying with Scripture—is one of the most powerful tools that we have.”

Once your council is active in COR, please submit the short online report after each meeting at www.kofc.org/cor or the form link below. These reports help track COR’s success and identify where support can be improved.

Please call, text, or email Chairman Jason Kehl or Director John Clarke anytime. They are glad to help your council introduce and implement COR, and may also be able to visit in person depending on location and scheduling.
