Membership
Honoring Faith, Serving Community through membership in the Knights. Your councils will perform many fine activities throughout the fraternal year. You should be proud of these efforts. While we as Knights and Ladies have scores of programs that we undertake each fraternal year, we must remember that when Blessed Michael McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus, he sought to use the Order to lead people to Heaven. Yes, charity is certainly the prime virtue of the Order, but we must use our good works to strengthen the faith of our parishes and families. We must devote everything to Christ – only through Him will we accomplish these goals.
But to do these good works, we must grow the Order – which starts in your own council. If your council is typical of many in Missouri, you have seen fewer people join than the number of those Knights who have become inactive. This trend is something that is not sustainable in the long run. Our goal as a Membership Team is to help you bring new men into the Order, emphasizing how they can strengthen their families and grow in their Catholic Faith by joining. If your council has done well the last few years, we want to help you maintain your numbers.
Through these membership pages, hopefully, you will have some ideas to strengthen your councils. But any of us are willing to help your councils. While the growth coordinators will reach out to specific councils/districts, contact either in your diocese for help. See the Diocesan Growth Coordinator list below:
