Novena for Life
Required Supreme Program
The Novena for Life is a critical initiative of the Knights of Columbus, bringing communities together through both public and private acts of prayer to lead the spiritual battle for a culture of life. The protection of life is a sustained prayer intention of the Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Program Overview
Councils are encouraged to promote a novena—a period of nine days of sustained prayer—to build a culture of life within their parishes, homes, and wider communities. These novenas can coincide with significant feast days or pro-life events, providing spiritual support and encouragement to those advocating for the dignity of life.
State Program Guidance
As part of the State Program, councils are encouraged to conduct their Novena for Life in conjunction with the Roses for Life campaign in October. This alignment amplifies the pro-life message and strengthens community participation.
Novena Resources
- Examples of novenas can be found on Supreme Council or Catholic websites.
- A simple approach could include reciting the Rosary during each day of the novena.
- Promote your novena through parish bulletins, social media, and communal gatherings to encourage participation.
