Christian Refugee Relief Program
Our commitment to defending and cherishing human life knows no geographical boundaries. Through the Christian Refugee Relief Program , the Knights of Columbus extend an international hand of mercy to persecuted Christians around the globe, ensuring they are neither forgotten nor abandoned.
🌍 Our First Principle on a Global Scale
Our call to global charity is perfectly captured by our leadership:
"Whether at home or abroad, charity is our Order’s first principle and the basis for all we do as brother Knights. It is the tangible way that we live out that spirit of fraternity and ‘missionary discipleship’ to which Pope Francis has called us.”
— Past Supreme Knight Carl Anderson
True fraternal charity requires that we lift our eyes to areas of the world where Christians face extreme systemic displacement, poverty, and physical danger simply for professing the name of Jesus Christ. Through our prayers and financial resources, we provide life-saving aid, rebuild destroyed homes, and restore dignity to families in crisis.
🛠️ How Your Council, Auxiliary, or Assembly Can Help
Every local unit in Missouri is urged to do its part to sustain the Supreme Council's ongoing international relief funds. Consider implementing the following actions:
-
Host a Targeted Fundraiser: Coordinate a parish breakfast, dinner, or second collection specifically designated for the Knights of Columbus Christian Refugee Relief Fund .
-
Offer Mass Intentions: Work with your pastor or chaplain to dedicate a parish Mass or council prayer service specifically for the safety, endurance, and spiritual strength of persecuted Christians worldwide.
-
Educate and Raise Awareness: Use your council newsletters and parish bulletins to share updates on the plight of refugees, reminding parishioners that our global family needs our continuous prayers.
