Safe Environment Compliance
As Knights of Columbus, we are called to build up the Church and protect the vulnerable. The Safe Environment Program ensures our councils remain trusted, secure sanctuaries for Catholic families and youth. By staying compliant, we not only protect the children participating in our programs, but we also safeguard our parishes and insulate our local councils from liability. Ensuring a safe environment allows us to boldly evangelize and confidently serve.
Achieving compliance is straightforward. To help us build up our communities securely, the Lord promises us: "Your Grace is Sufficient for me." When we step up to serve in leadership, His grace gives us the willingness to handle the administrative tasks that make our mission possible.
Fraternal Year Compliance Requirements:
- Grand Knights and Program Directors: Must complete the online training modules if they have not already done so.
- Family Directors and Community Directors: Must complete the online training modules and submit information for a background check.
How It Works: Once your council submits the Service Program Personnel Report (Form 365) via Member Management, our safe environment partner, Praesidium, will email the designated directors their unique login credentials and links. The entire process is conducted online, takes less than an hour, and is provided at no cost to the council or the member. All requirements must be completed within 30 days of receiving the email. For questions or compliance tracking assistance, please contact: Kenneth Yunker, Jr if you have any questions.
Columbian Award Reminders:
Celebrating Impact: The Columbian Award (SP-7)
The Columbian Award is the true benchmark of a healthy, active Knights of Columbus council. Earning this award proves that your council is not just existing, but actively thriving by bringing the Faith in Action model to life. It honors the dedication of your members and showcases the tangible, life-changing work you have brought to your parish and community over the past year.
Gathering final reports and meeting deadlines can feel overwhelming as the fraternal year wraps up. However, we push through the final stretch remembering our theme: "Your Grace is Sufficient for me." With His grace guiding our efforts, we can cross the finish line strong and ensure our councils receive the recognition they deserve.
Essential Application Requirements:
- Hard Deadline: The completed application MUST be received at the Supreme Office by June 30. No late entries are accepted.
- Balanced Action: The form must be completely filled out, detailing exactly four distinct programs in each of the four core Faith in Action categories: Faith, Community, Family, and Life.
- The Supreme Advantage: Remember to take full advantage of Supreme's “Featured Programs.” Successfully completing just one Featured Program can fulfill multiple category requirements automatically, drastically simplifying your paperwork.
Do not let your council's hard work go unnoticed. Submit your Form SP-7 via the online portal today. For assistance with program credits or submission tracking, please contact:
