Food for Families

As Knights, we are called to be the hands and feet of Christ, especially when our neighbors face times of vulnerability and need. By anchoring our efforts in the profound truth that God’s grace is sufficient for us, the Missouri Knights of Columbus remain steadfastly committed to ending hunger in our local communities. Through the order-wide Food for Families Program, we turn that grace into action.

Maximize Your Impact: Supreme Council Refunds

To help your council's generosity go even further, the Supreme Council offers financial reimbursements for your local contributions. Reported food and monetary donations are cumulative for the fraternal year.

Monetary Refund: Receive $100 back for every $500 donated.

Food Donation Refund: Receive $100 back for every 1,000 pounds of food contributed to a parish food pantry, community food bank, or soup kitchen.

Maximum Benefit: Up to $500 per council/assembly per fraternal year.

Recognition: In addition to the refund, participating units will receive an attractive plaque recognizing their dedication to fighting hunger.

How to Apply for Reimbursement
Earn Columbian Award Credits

Food for Families is the Featured Program for Family Activities. Your council can earn two vital credits toward the Family Activity requirements for the prestigious Columbian Award by meeting the following minimums during the fraternal year:

  • Donate a minimum of 1,000 pounds of food.

  • Volunteer a minimum of 100 man-hours at a local food agency.
