Food for Families

The Knights of Columbus is committed to ending hunger in local communities by encouraging local councils to participate in the Orderwide Food for Families Program. Last year, 26 Missouri Councils:

  • Collected 14,028 pounds of food
  • Donated $61,064.50
  • Volunteered 5,263 hours at food agencies

Program Details

For councils or assemblies, the Supreme Council will refund $100 for every:

  • $500 donated, or
  • 1,000 pounds of food contributed to a parish food pantry, community food bank, or soup kitchen

Refunds are capped at a maximum of $500 per council/assembly per fraternal year. Contributions of food and/or monetary donations are cumulative for the fraternal year.

How to Apply for Reimbursement

Food for Families as a Featured Program

Food for Families is the Featured Program for Family Activities. A council can earn two credits toward the Family Activity requirements for the Columbian Award by:

  • Donating a minimum of 1,000 pounds of food.
  • Volunteering a minimum of 100 man-hours at a food agency.
