Faith in Action

This is the sixth year for Faith in Action, the Knights’ programming framework that emphasizes welcoming families, engaging with the parish, and building programs that attract, support, and strengthen families. The goal is to create a place where each family member has an important role. The programs include:

The Family Fully Alive

The Family Fully Alive program includes monthly themes, meditations, projects, and Scripture verses that help place God and the Catholic faith at the center of your family’s lives. These resources are found in The Family Fully Alive program book (#10162), with the first 300 copies available free from the Supply Department.

Each month features a project that can be completed by individual families or expanded to include the entire parish family. Additional materials are available online to enhance the experience.

Family Prayer Night

Many Catholic families struggle to find opportunities to socialize and pray together. Family Prayer Night offers a chance for families to come together in a casual setting, allowing children to see faith lived out by others beyond their immediate family.

This monthly event invites council members, their families, and the entire parish community to join for an evening of prayer, dinner, and fellowship, promoting unity and spiritual growth.

Good Friday Family Promotion

Despite its central importance in Christianity, attendance at Good Friday services is often low. Councils can address this by conducting a Good Friday Family Promotion campaign to encourage participation and educate parishioners about the significance of Good Friday.

Knights can lead by example, attending services with their families and collaborating with pastors to boost parishioner involvement. Additionally, councils can educate the parish about the plight of Christians in the Holy Land and other areas where Christians face persecution.

Family Week

Knights of Columbus Family Week traditionally coincides with the birth (Aug. 12) and death (Aug. 14) of Father McGivney. In 2025, Family Week will take place from August 11 to August 18, although councils can choose a week that fits their parish calendar.

Activities can include a family Mass, picnic, dinner, prayer service, or other events that promote family interaction and highlight the family-centered focus of the Order. These events are open to non-members, prospects, parishioners, friends, priests, religious, and the broader community.

Keep Christ in Christmas

Councils can evangelize society by promoting the true meaning of Christmas through Keep Christ in Christmas programs. These activities emphasize the Advent season and the nativity of Jesus Christ, centering on the example of the Holy Family.

Programs may include:

  • Journey to the Inn
  • Light Up for Christ
  • Crèche or Advent Wreath Blessing
  • Christmas Poster Contest

These activities encourage reflection on the significance of Christ’s birth and foster a deeper spiritual connection during the holiday season.
